Every update is measured before it ships: the licensed output stays bit-identical unless a change is meant to be heard, and every module goes back through the same test battery it launched with. These are the parts that changed.

A licence that stays put

Your activation is now tied to the machine, not to the OS build it was made on. Update macOS, update Windows, update CLEANSLATE — the plugin opens licensed every time, and your two seats stay yours. Existing activations move over silently the first time they go online.

One click at the bottom-right of the window asks badscandal.com whether there's a newer build and brings you here. It checks quietly once a day on its own; when something new is ready the footer says so, in green.

Two more routes to the licence server, and a browser fallback for the rare machine that blocks all of them: copy the machine code from the panel, paste the key at badscandal.com/activate, paste the licence back. Nobody stays stuck at the door.

Machine fingerprint no longer moves with OS updates; existing activations migrate on their own. CHECK FOR UPDATE in the footer with a daily silent check. Cleaner OS reporting to the licence server. No change to the audio path.

Updating

Things you'd ask.

Do I need my key again?

No. Your licence is stored outside the plugin files, so an update never touches it. Download, install over the old version, reopen your DAW: it opens licensed.

Will my presets and sessions survive?

Yes. User presets live in your own folder and every parameter keeps its meaning between versions, so sessions recall exactly as saved.

The footer says COULDN'T CHECK.

That machine couldn't reach badscandal.com at that moment. Nothing is wrong with the licence — the check is just a lookup. Come back to this page in any browser and download from here.

How do I know which version I have?

It's printed at the bottom-right of the plugin window, next to the latency readout. Pressing CHECK FOR UPDATE there brings you to this page with your version filled in.
