About
Badscandal is Luke Power. A producer and artist from Dublin working in the music industry — and the name everything he makes now lives under. The idea behind it is simple: make the music you actually mean, say the things you're not supposed to, and stop performing for people who were never really listening.
Badscandal isn't an alias — it's a brand. It's the world the music lives in: one name across the records, the visuals and the shows. As the project grows and tours, the tour is Badscandal. Everything we do is a Badscandal.
The whole thing comes at the world from one angle — not giving a fuck. The name is for the people who cared too much, got hurt doing it, and came out the other side realising nothing really matters except the moment you're standing in. It's a place with no judgement, where we push past what's considered normal — in life and in music. Everything here is designed to shock. So let's shock together. Join the movement.
Luke didn't really choose music — he was just never without it. A natural musician with perfect pitch, he could pick up almost any instrument and play it. I don't remember ever not doing music,
he says. Everything else came harder. Home was distant and short on warmth, and he spent his childhood feeling like the odd one out — too emotional for the people around him, too strange for the room.
The people who changed that were his grandparents, Helen and Liam Power, who took him in at twelve. I think they're the reason I'm not a monster,
he says. I didn't feel like I had to survive with them — I felt like I was living.
Losing them both, slowly and then suddenly, marked him for good; a lot of who he is now traces straight back to them.
The name came from his sister, Elise, who told him plainly that he was scandalous — that the way he thought, spoke and made things never quite lined up with how everyone else did it. It stuck. I don't give a fuck what anyone thinks,
he says. I did as a kid. Not anymore.
That's the whole project in a line. Badscandal is for the people who never quite fit — who got tired of trying, tired of being managed and manipulated, tired of pretending. It's music made from a different angle: unfiltered, uncensored, no marketing voice, nothing played safe for radio. We're all going to die one day — that's the one thing we're all definitely doing together. So don't let fear stop you. Open up, say what you want, push the boundary. That's the whole thing.
